Welcome Home To Louisville The 2009 Inaugural "Welcome Home to Louisville" Events Extends From July 1 to December 31, 2009 From 2010 onward, June/July/August in Louisville will be known as "WELCOME HOME TO LOUISVILLE" months. WHTL is a celebration of the beauty, charm, vitality and heritage of Louisville, Kentucky. WHTL is being created as an annual invitation for all Ex-Louisvillians on planet earth to come home in July/August to visit friends and family and to enjoy Louisville's summertime events, restaurants, attractions, shops, hotels and B & B's. Each June/July/August Louisville small business sponsors will offer discounts and wonderful prize packages for Ex-Louisvillians who wear the WHTL patch & lanyard shown here. The Louisville Company LLC and its sponsors are partnering to create a warm annual welcome to the estimated 500,000-750,000 Ex-Louisvillians living away from their hometown. Welcome Home To Louisville is also designed to raise funds for Louisville�s non-profit~charitable organizations. This fund raising component of WHTL is an expression of The Louisville Company and its small business sponsors' commitment to the "heart of Louisville", its charitable organizations. The Louisville Company is a member of the Kentucky Festivals and Events Association. "Welcome Home To Louisville" received the KFEA conference award in 2009 for "Most Innovative or New Activity with budget under $50,000". The Louisville Company envisions that in future years many Louisville organizations and businesses will plan creative events every July/August to graciously welcome home Ex-Louisvillians from all over the world.
