"WELCOME HOME TO LOUISVILLE MONTH" Celebrates its first year in October 2008. This month-long reunion event is a celebration of Louisville, Kentucky. It is created as an invitation for ex-patriate Louisvillians (Ex-Louies) to come home to enjoy our city's attractions, hotels, restaurants, shops and most of all our warm and welcoming residents.
We are in the process of inviting Louisville attractions, hotels, restaurants and shops to "Welcome Ex-Louies" by offering special discounts during October, 2008. We are designing a special "Welcome Home to Louisville" patch with lanyard that Ex-Louies can purchase at a nominal fee (like a derby pin). If they wear this patch at participating Louisville businesses they will receive designated discounts throughout the month of October, 2008.
Our contacts at the U of L have statistically estimated that there are between 500,000 and 750,000 Ex-Louies currently alive on planet earth. Every year we will invite them home during the month of October. Think of this celebration like a Grand High School reunion for every High School in Louisville. We know this annual event will grow by leaps and bounds every year and we invite all Louisville businesses to join in with creative special discounts to celebrate all Ex-Louies on planet earth. We invite every Louisvillian with family and friend Ex-Louies to personally deliver a warm "WELCOME HOME TO LOUISVILLE" for our first annual celebration in October 2008. In Louisville October is the month with the most colorful weather and with more festivals, music, and unique events than any other month of the year. We invite all of Louisville to join in creating exciting, interesting, uniquely Louisville happenings and events in October 2008 and a s the years go by.
Please email us with your ideas and suggestions. If you are a Louisville business, please e-mail us with your discount offers and we will add them to our communications. Please tell any Ex-Louie you know and love about "WELCOME HOME TO LOUISVILLE" and direct them to our website for details about next October. Y'ALL COME HOME NOW".
